5 Creative Ways To Stay Grateful

Republished from peacefuldumpling

5 Creative Ways to Stay Grateful

Tis the season for family, friends and food! However, among all these amazing celebrations and traditions is a core value that we can continue to practice even after the holiday season is over: Gratitude.
Here are 5 ways you can stay grateful this holiday season and beyond!
1. Replace expectation with appreciation.
Take time this season to let go of your should’s and could’s. Instead of being led by your expectations of how things should turn out or expectations you might have for yourself, appreciate where you are and who you are in this moment. Releasing your expectations and trading it for appreciation allows you to stay present. When you come to your yoga mat, release any expectations of how you should feel, how strong you should be or how flexible you could be. Allow yourself to be grateful for the body you were able to bring to your mat. Be thankful for the time you carved out for your practice. Be happy you have the privilege of turning inward to feed your own mental and physical health. Appreciate the world around you and your whole perspective can change.
2. Embrace Challenge
We often take obstacles or limitations in our life and allow them to identify us—whether they’re mental or physical. We start to say things like “I’m not strong,” “I’m not flexible,” or “I’m stressed out.” We let these limitations become who we are and as a result, we end up standing in our own way. Instead of allowing these obstacles and struggles to become real hinderances, embrace them. Accept yourself where you are and accept these challenges as a valuable part of who you are. Realize that obstacles in your path or merely opportunities to grow stronger, stretch further, work harder and release more. Each challenge in your life can be embraced to help you grow. Bow to your struggles and thank them, for without them you might never have realized how strong you can truly become.
3. Make it your Mantra
Being grateful is a step on the path to happiness. But it’s good to remember that there will be hard times along the way. That’s why it’s important to keep gratitude as a daily mantra. Beginning your day with a daily mantra keeps you grounded, connected and present. Take time to recount the things in life you can be thankful for and add things to the list as you go through your day. Keep a list of positive experiences you can look back on when you’re sad or have a hard meeting at work. Whether you woke up in a positive light or are struggling to see the silver linings, let everything, from the leaves changing colors to getting the last scone for your coffee, steer you to gratitude.
4. Inspire Action
Gratitude is an amazing practice to put into, well, practice. It is not only about recounting the things you have that you’re thankful for. Its also about sharing the love, giving back and inspiring action. Thankful for your mom? Give her a call! Thankful for your health? Grab a friend who’s never been to yoga and share the experience. Grateful for a big Thanksgiving dinner? Volunteer at a soup kitchen or donate canned goods to those in need. Let your gratitude shine bright, inspire others and effect positive change in the world.
5. Stay Present
Release attachment to the future and the past. Be connected to the present because—as cliche as it is—the present is a gift. Embrace the moments and the people around you. Enjoy the good things and know the bad things will pass. Allow yourself to take everything one step at a time, stay grounded, and be grateful!
No matter the season, gratitude is an amazing practice to keep. During this holiday, enjoy and embrace the things in your life that make you thankful. Keep this practice going throughout your day, throughout your week, throughout the rest of the year and beyond!
What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Gratitude is the best attitude

Republished from brilliantlivinghq

Is gratitude the best attitude?

If you want to jump out of bed in the morning shouting ‘I love my life’ at the top of your voice (and mean it) – the time and place to start is here and now.
It’s brilliant to have a vision of how you want life to look – and goals to get you there.
It’s great to use tools like affirmations and visualization to put you in the right frame of mind to achieve those goals.
But it’s not just about looking forward to happiness in some future time.
It’s about where you are now, being happy with who you are and what you have now.
And this is where gratitude is the best attitude kicks in.
Gratitude and appreciation give you a simple yet amazing mind management tool with the power to change how you feel right now and carry you forward towards your goals.
‘I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.’ Brene Brown
Gratitude is one of the universal themes from our shared experience of what it means to be human.
It crosses cultures, gender and age, and features in the world’s great religious traditions.
Every language in the world has a way of saying ‘thank you’.
But despite the fact it’s easy to say, and we throw out cursory ‘thank you’s everyday, it’s not so easy to feel and experience.
To make gratitude a deliberate part of our daily lives takes practice.
So is it worth it?
Writing down 5 things they were grateful for once a week for ten weeks, had a measurable positive impact on the happiness and health levels of a group studied by Robert Emmons and Michael McCullough of the University of California.
And if when it comes to managing your mind, gratitude is the best attitude to focus you on the good things in your life and train your mind to look for more of the same.
‘Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.’ Zig Ziglar

Looking Past The Limits.

Republished from The Secret

Hello people,
I am a 23 year old graduate student studying electrical engineering in California. All my life I have always stayed home with my family and this was the first time I moved away from home and that too, to a different country. Naturally the experience was very overwhelming for me. New place, new people and a new life somehow intimidated me in a way. I was homesick all the time and found it very difficult to manage my academics as well. The results were pretty obvious, I fared very badly in my first semester. It crushed me so badly as I had always been a top performing student back home. I wasn’t able to figure out what was it that I was doing wrong, how could I go back and set things right. It was then that I realized that I couldn’t and the only thing I could do was to make sure that I don’t make the same mistakes again. And what better way to turn over a new leaf than to start practicing The Secret!
I had read The Secret 4 years back but never really practiced it. I pulled it out from my shelf and started reading it every day. Every morning I got up and practiced gratitude, counted my blessings and was thankful for every little blessing that came my way. I could see that things were starting to work out for me, slowly and steadily I was getting closer to where I wanted to be. I was doing well in my assignments and exams and so far my grades have been good. I could see that I was still in the same environment with an equal amount of stress, but the way I perceived things had changed. I was more positive, happy and content. To top all of this I have got an internship in a great company that will be starting next month.
This is my final exam week and there are two more exams before I get done with this semester but I am sure that I am going to come out with flying colors and start with my internship this summer. This is me having faith in my faith, that no matter what, I am going to get what I want and life is going to be as amazing as it can be. I can’t wait to write another story when my results are out on how I have successfully achieved what I had set my heart upon. And I can already see myself doing that really soon!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Just When You’re About To Give Up!

Republished from The Secret

Firstly, thank you Rhonda and everyone that posts stories here, every day I read them day to keep me motivated.
I have been looking for a job for 3 years. I didn’t want to take anything I did not like I wanted to find my dream role in the music industry. I applied many times without any call backs and was giving up all hope when I started to apply The Secret.
I keep saying a motto I had read “Thank you for all the abundance, thank you for all the wealth, thank you for all the happiness, protection and good health”, addressing it to God.
Fast forward after going for an interview for a role I had been turned down for, out of no way, a way was made. This highly successful global music company called me for another role which I got and with a better salary than I had imagined! It has everything I wrote in my gratitude journal.
Anyone about to give up, keeping focused only on what you want and see the end result. Some days may be harder than others but if you have enough gratitude you can have anything.
Once again thank you, thank you, thank you everyone and spread the joy.

Wow! That Was Quick!!

Republished from The Secret

Dear Rhonda and all her marvellous team!
Judging by the speed of this particular manifestation, this is, I believe, the first of many sharings to come!
I began reading The Magic yesterday morning. I haven’t read either of the other books but I’ve seen The Secret DVD many times. Anyway I got going immediately on following the advice for the practice for day 1 of the 28 day process.
Well what can I say? It’s like looking at life through new eyes. My word!! How much there is to be grateful for! Well just waking up to how very blessed I am, as we all are, was gift enough, but the Universe was intent on giving more. Within 4 hours of reading that first chapter and putting it into practice I got an email saying I had won £500 on the premium bonds!! Ha ha wow! That’s what I call a fast turn around!!
Thank you Rhonda and thank you all for sharing your wonderful and very inspiring stories, they have lifted me up and motivated me no end!

The Secret Really Works!!!

Republished from The Secret

When I read The Secret, I was skeptical. But after applying The Secret and The Magic, I have this huge amount of gratitude for Rhonda and her team.
I used to be a person with self limiting beliefs as I come from a broken family. Due to only average scores in academics, I thought I would never be able to get admission into my dream college.
I started applying everything that Rhonda had mentioned in the books, and as they say, thoughts becomes things. I got admission at one of the top most colleges in management. And guess what?? I also got a call from another top institute which wasn’t my dream institute yet still I gave the interview.
It works guys!!!!! Have positive thoughts? Life becomes positive. Have negative thoughts? Life becomes negative.
Everybody can achieve their dreams. Just have faith and think and feel positive.
Thank you Rhonda and her team for bringing this beautiful hidden Secret out into the world.

Gratitude is the attitude

Written by: Amit Shukla

So as I begin this article, let me make it clear that despite having written multiple blogs & republished as well, I have been practicing gratitude on & off, because just like all of you, even I am human & at times I forget the benefits of 'Gratitude' & as we are conditioned since our childhood to crib about things, people so as we grow older, we try to keep the heritage alive & pass it on to the newborns & so on & so forth.

So what makes me worthy of writing this article? Well, the mere fact that I have been practicing Gratitude over the last week & the results have shocked me to the core. They have made me believe that there is nothing bigger & better than gratitude & with it you can achieve the impossible.

It gives the essence that not all is to be stuck with & you can let go off a lot of things. It's amazing that life is so abundant & we just don't understand it, because we are so busy talking about our problems than talking about our joys.

I guess that such a change be made in our lifestyle , upbringing, moral values that people talk more about the goodness in their life, the fact that they are alive to see the day, that they have electricity , food on the table to name a few. Just think what life would be like if we start talking about our joys & make it a part of our habit.

Think about it & share your thoughts in the comments.

Gratitude

Republished from The Secret

I did not actually believed in the idea of The Secret which I heard about during a train journey. The discussion between two people led to an exchange of the movie “The Secret” in my pen drive. My uncle also asked me to take it in my pen drive and watch it. I took it, I watched it but it did not convince me until I had accidents where every time I opened my laptop I would to see the screenshot of the movie in on laptop. I started to google about it and the stories convinced me and I practised it. It really worked!
I got in the government job which I always wanted throughout my life. As soon as I entered the workplace, my colleagues did not support me. I started taking everything positively. Every morning I woke up and said thank you to the universe for blessing me with a supportive environment at my workplace and wonderful colleagues.
Everything started changing. Those who harassed me became my friends and helped me.
My health was not going good because of long sitting. My shoulders started hurting. I started practising The Secret for my good health and oh my God!!! I just can’t express, my health started recovering. I am now in a good position: I have all the good health, wealth and all the blessings from universe. Thank you Universe, Rhonda and the team of The Secret. Now, I am using The Secret to get a wonderful life partner who supports me in my career and in my dreams, supportive in-laws and I also want to be in a stronger position in my workplace. I know it is coming to me. Regards to the Universe for blessing me with everything I wanted and I wished!

Love & Live Life

Indeed, you need to understand that life is to be lived & loved. If you can't love life, embrace all that you currently have because the moment you start loving life & living it, life will be amazingly wonderful.

It Works! It Works! It Works!!

Republished from The Secret

This is the first time writing my story even though I’ve been applying this logic on and off since I first read The Secret and The Magic books many years ago. I knew it was working but I never had something  happen right before my eyes, until today.
Here is the story:
I needed to move out from my current apartment because I’m moving abroad. This decision came pretty sudden and I only had about 2 weeks to find a replacement before the month ends. Many people came to view the apartment but no one seemed to say yes to it. Time was running short and I could have ended up paying for the room when I’m not even living in it and lose my deposit money. That money equals 2 month rents, which I could really use to finance my move.
So this morning, I decided to use the law of attraction to attract someone to come view the apartment and say yes right away, even though I have no one scheduled to come see the room at all. I asked for it, saw it in my head and felt so happy and grateful that I found the person and finally settled this situation. I also said that I will share my story here if this actually happens today.
And guess what?!
A few hours later, this guy messaged me that he saw my ad post and would like to come view the room today. It happened so quickly but he basically said yes right away after he saw the place!
This blows my mind. It works. It actually works right before my eyes.
So thank you, thank you, thank you so much Rhonda and the team for creating this amazing book! I am a true believer in LOA now! I’m sharing this to anyone who still is not sure if this really works and letting you know that it is. If this can happen to me, it can happen to you, too. Just believe.

Get, Set, Go!

Written by Amit Shukla

It comes as no surprise that life is filled with all the goodness unless you have focused on the negatives only & the most wierd part is that we all do so. We all focus more on the negatives than look at the goodness around us.

The mere fact of being alive to see this great day today is such a bliss that should take away all the negativity from you & your mind unless you think that focussing on the negatives can lead to the positive as Algebra says (-) X (-) = +.

It could apply to mathematics but in real life negativity can only cause pain so it's important that you focus on the +ves around you, be it drinking water, air that you breathe, food that you eat, feet that let you walk, hands that work per your instructions & when you start focusing on it, you will see the goodness that you have in abundance with you & then think about the goal that makes you do all that you want to do & when you have it just

GET, SET, GO!!!

Faith

Republished from The Secret

My story began in 2013 when my life took a dramatic change. I began to get bullied at work. I was so naive I didn’t see it happening and thought if I just kept my head down things would be OK. The more I tried, the more I annoyed the bully, and the worse it got.
Eventually I was suspend and then later sacked, as I’d cracked and walked out of her office as I couldn’t take anymore of the verbal attacks. At the time I was devastated. I’d lost the job I loved in a school I really enjoyed working in, and to top it off, I lost the colleagues that I thought were friends.
By March 2014 my mental health had deteriorated and I’d been diagnosed with PTSD. My thoughts turned to ending my life on more than one occasion.
At the time, my 2 daughters lived with me and treated me to getting my nails manicured at the local salon. There a young lady named Ashley introduced me to The Secret. She was so positive and enthusiastic about it that I felt compelled to look into it. As it turned out, my sister had given me the book and DVD some 3 years earlier and I’d just put it in a cupboard.
I started to read the book but could not hold my concentration so I watched the DVD. After about 3 viewings I started to take in what I was being told and began to use it in my daily life. I wrote down my thoughts of what I wanted and how I saw my life in the next 12 months. I also began cleaning my closet (life) of negative people who seemed happy that I’d hit rock bottom. I began to focus on the year ahead.
The changes in my health and outlook was apparent to those who were closest to me. Being more positive and starting each day grateful that I’d woken up, was the start.
I’d wrote a list of my thoughts and put them on the fridge. My youngest son thought I was going mad and that I was being stupid but I kept the faith. Other family members laughed at me and thought I’d really lost the plot.
In December 2014 my life was good, my mental health better and one of my thoughts had come to reality as I’d moved to a much nicer area. However, the best was yet to come. On the 12/30 I won the lottery!! This enabled me to achieve all my thoughts from my list on the fridge and many more.
Come February, I began to look for employment and a super job came to me, which I loved and took a great amount of enjoyment from. It was not however, in teaching, which I wanted to get back doing.
It was May 2015 when I first stepped back into a classroom and the feeling was amazing. I feel very blessed as my life has completely turned around. I awake each morning with a smile on my face and cannot wait to enjoy great the day ahead.

I Ask, Universe Delivers

Republished from The Secret

First of all I would just like to thank Rhonda and the team for putting this out for everyone to grow from. Thank you all for all the inspiring stories that reminded me to never give up and to just believe.
There have been so many things that happened as soon as I started using the Law of Attraction. I have been out of a job for a year now and you won’t believe it when I say that I have attracted cars, money, the house I wanted, and just recently, the perfect job.
My story begins at the beginning of the month when I was given a deadline to find a job or I was going to be evicted. August 1 was the day I started effortlessly looking for a job. Posting my resumes everywhere, packing my kids in the car and hauling them from one building to another asking them to hire me. Late nights and early mornings on the computer looking for any type of work. Early in the year I had requested the salary I wanted, job position I wanted and the city I wanted it in.
I had forgotten about my request until I found the letter I wrote to the universe about what I wanted and this was on August 24 just days before my eviction. That night after reading the letter, I sat down and released everything to the universe and believed the job was going to be mine.
I woke up early every morning to do my workout, make my children a hearty breakfast and take them to school. I would come home and clean the house, get dinner prepped, then get dressed and go to the employee parking lot and visualize myself getting out and using my Employee Access Card to get in. As I was doing that I was also visualizing money flowing into my life with ease.
In the middle of my visualization my phone rang and it was my school telling me that they have a credit of $5000 on my account and that they will be sending it to me after my last class. I was shocked! I started crying and thanking the universe and God.
The 26 of August I get a text from my old recruiter and he told me he had scheduled an interview with the District Manager for the 28th at 10. That day I woke up went to the interview and the district manager was so impressed with me she hired me on the spot!
And guess what?
I start on Monday, 8/31! The exact position, hours, pay and location I wanted. Thank you LOA!
I am teaching my kids about the Law of Attraction and we are going to finish their vision boards this weekend.
Thank you for reading my story and continue to ask, believe and you will receive.

Power Of The Mind, You Can Always Get What You Are Looking For!

Republished from The Secret

I’d lost my watch that I held very dear to me about three years back at school.
Only a few months before the incident, had I started reading The Magic with an open mind. I was very excited to know if it would work.
The first thing I did was find my copy of The Magic book. I made it a practice to visualize myself having gotten the watch back on my wrist, feeling as joyous as I could for having gotten back my watch and telling my cabin mate about it. I also told her that I’d get it back in three days.
After a day of thorough searching in all places I could think of, I did not find it but I still hadn’t lost hope. My friend had just gotten got a missing book back from a cupboard at school, although I was nowhere around that area when I lost my watch and they don’t usually put lost objects in that cupboard. However, I just knew it had to be there.
I had to talk to my teacher before I could scrounge the cupboard for it.
To my delight it was right there! It was found on only my the third day of LOA practice!
However trivial the incident might be, it shows how powerful your instincts are and how they’re guided by your visualization.
To my friend, from whose book I learnt about gratitude and LOA, I shall forever be grateful!
